Sunday 12th February saw almost all of the students take part in the Carnival celebrations in the Tuscan coastal town of Viareggio. It was still a little chilly but finally the sun came out and a great time was had by all.
Viareggio is world famous for its Carnival celebrations with a wonderful parade every year. Its a lot more down to earth and accessible compared to the Venice carnival.
We are delighted so many students participated and as you can see from the pictures, how can you not have a good time?
Literally jumping with excitement...
Very topical.
Viareggio Carnevale does have a reputation to uphold...
A huge Sarkozy (French President).
Obama, dressed as a Cardinal. Obviously.
Apologies to our German readers...
These students will be finding confetti in their pockets for the rest of the program.
Before the parade got underway, we joined some of the Northern California students on the beach for a quick catch up.
