Presidents Day

One thing that sometimes get overlooked in Studying Abroad is the importance of local holidays.  This time of year, its pretty cold in Italy, so its much better to have Public Holidays later in the year.  Easter Monday this year is 9th April.  Italian Liberation day is always the 25th April, which this year is a Wednesday.

Presidents day has just passed in the USA, whilst many people were able to enjoy a long weekend, the Northern California Study Abroad Consortium Faculty were hard at work.  Here you can see them just after the weekly meeting with AIFS staff.

Tonight is Martedi Grosso / Fat Tuesday / Pancake Tuesday / Shrove Tuesday, depending where you are in the World.  Tomorrow Lent begins, the forty days and nights leading upto Easter.  Many of the students are attending a special "Concerto per Carnevale" at the Teatro Verdi tonight.  We will tell you all about it later in the week.
