Benvenuti Northern California

After the first couple of days of orientation and moving into apartments, it was time for classes to start.  It is a study abroad program after all.

With the fist day of School done and dusted, it was time for the group to meet up for the Welcome Dinner.  Here is the menu:

AIFS Menu Mercoledi 2 Febbraio 2012
Antipasto Classico Toscano con crostini misti caldi e salumi del contadino

Ravioli ripieni di ricotta e spinaci in salsa senese con pecorino di Pienza
Chiocciole all' ortolana

Grigliata di carne alla Chiantigiana
Patate a spicchi

Panna cotta ai frutti di bosco
It was a chance for the students to try some new Tuscan delights...  A mixture of Ham and Salami with some Crostini (little pieces of bread toasted) with a mixture of toppings, including Olives, Tomatoes and Chicken Liver.

A good time was hard by all and it was great to give the students a glimpse of how important food is to the daily routine.

Two types of pasta for the primi.  Why not take a photo!

A table for 90 please...

A chance for the faculty to enjoy dinner as well.
