Another Month has passed in Florence.  Some days it seems as though the city is bursting at the seems with visitors but then the afternoon rain falls and everyone disappears...

The Festival of San Giovanni passed by without incident on Friday 24th June.  The final of the "Calcio Storico" took place in the afternoon and was won by

The four Quarters of Florence take part in the competition.  The final was between Santo Spirito (Bianchi) v Santa Croce (Azzurri).  The winners were Santa Croce, the area where the AIFS Summer Office is situated, so thats a win for us!  After fireworks on the field of play, there were fireworks above the city in celebration.

We hope everyone enjoyed the 4th July Weekend.  In "celebration" of the Hard Rock Cafe opening in Florence, a stage was set up in Piazza della Reppublicca.  Simple Minds were the headliners and went down well.  

Finally, we have been joined this week here in Florence by a group of Media Students from California State University Fullerton & San Bernadino.  As part of their course they are doing lots of multimedia work and the fruits of it can be found here.
