Where to begin...

Its been a busy couple of weeks in Florence, our two groups of students have been busy cleaning, dancing and climbing Volcanoes!

The Students from Washington State have been busy helping the Florence Community by adopting an area and pledging to help keep it tidy as part of the "Angeli del Bello" project.  Piazza Santa Croce was the location.  The students got to work helping make the area more beautiful and were Thanked by various locals.

They even made it into this weeks Florentine Newspaper and plan to head down to the Square next week.

Then this past weekend, 40 students travelled with AIFS down to Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast.  Despite a few clouds there were still plenty of smiles.

After a day passing by Positano and Amalfi, Saturday was spent on the beautiful Island of Capri.

Above we can see the students boarding the ferry with Vesuvius in the background.

Then from Anacapri, it was time to get upto the highest point on the Island, via a Chairlift.

Not bad, not bad...

Then on Sunday it was time to see Pompei and really follow in the footsteps of years gone by.

For some reason the Brothel in Pompei is always very popular...

Then it was time for the High Point of the weekend, literally...  Mount Vesuvius!

The Group ended up doing a special walk around the crater, around 4200 feet above Naples.

Of course there were one or two worried faces but it hasn't erupted since 1944, luckily it held on for a few more hours, while we completed our visit!
