A couple of weeks back (sorry, it's taken a while to get round to writing about it!) AIFS staff took more than 80 students to the beautiful Tuscan towns of Siena and San Gimignano on a very sunny Friday. In the morning we had a guided tour of Siena which included lots of informations on the fascinating division of the city into numerous nature-themed districts, such as the Owl and Caterpillar. The Sienese and the Florentines traditionally hate each other so the tour also involved a lot of snide comments about Florence! Then, after a bite or two to eat in Siena it was back onto the bus and off to the tiny, tower-filled, town of San Gimignano...
Piazza del Campo, Siena, the perfect spot for a post-lunch lie-down and catching some sun.
The towers of San Gimignano - one of Tuscany's most spectacular sights.
The views from San Gimignano are spectacular and the students all got very snap-happy with their cameras!
Quick photo-op before getting on the bus and heading back to Florence after a lovely sunny day out in Tuscany.
