Corsi di Cucina

During the first few weeks of the program, many of the students have taken part in an Italian Cooking Course.  These are offered as part of the optional cultural calendar.  For a few hours in the evening, the students can get their hands dirty and learn how to make traditional Italian dishes.

The menu so far has varied with Caprese di Melanzane or Sformato di Verdure to start, then Gnocchi di Patate or Ravioli di Spinaci e Ricotta as the main course.  Desserts were Salame Dolce or Panna Cotta.

All of the dishes were made from scratch, under the guidance of Italian Chefs.  For many the best bit of the evening is eating the fruits of their labours at the end!

The students were split up into smaller groups, here they are making Pasta from scratch.

They are all expected to eat everything at the end, so the pressure is on to get things right!

Everything is done by hand...

When we say it is hands on, we mean it!

Then its time to get to grips with the tricky Pasta Rolling Machine.

Then time to fill the Ravioli with the Spinach and Ricotta.

Before cooking for a few minutes.

Then finally, time to sit down and enjoy the results!  The students all got a recipe booklet to take home with them.
