Greetings from a Sunny Florence. All is well, its safe to say the students have settled in nicely. The jetlag appears to be fading and the students are starting to explore their new home.
First day in Florence - Orientation, important to start things off properly. Everybody was in good spirits and receptive to all the information being presented.
Despite airlines changing limits on the number of bags over the years, the luggage for 125 people still takes up quite some space...
By Mondy afternoon the students had been transferred by taxi to their new homes. We never leave them to figure things out for themselves. We explain as much as possible about the apartment, so as to avoid any mishaps. Below, this is not a cooking class, its Antonio showing the students how to use a Gas Stove safely!
After the first day of classes on Wednesday, it was time for our traditional Welcome Reception. The entire group gathered in the local Casa Della Creatività for aperitivo and to toast the program.
Now the students are having their first Italian Life & Culture Activity, a professional guided tour of Florence, telling them all about the sites that now surround them. (As well as where to get the best gelato...)
